a few blossoms

 i brought home
three blossoms
not many left
 almost sunset
 all the leaves are gone
 next year's leaves
are bundled up
and sunblushed
 in the distance
 no ice this afternoon
 clouds in the puddle
 beneath
 a touch of palest chartreuse
 just behind this
 elder maple
who's endured much abuse from the road crew
